Marshalling
Marshalling opens at 1:00 p.m. Every entry must be in place by 5:00 p.m. Entries are advised of their arrival time and location one week before the parade. Only floats and support vehicles are allowed in the marshalling area.
Disbursement
Entries leave via the southbound lanes on Notre Dame Avenue and re-enter the marshalling area for tear-down. If you are picking up children or participants, arrange to meet somewhere outside the disbursement area.
Judging
Judges sit in the TD Bank parking lot at the corner of Durham and Elm Streets. Entry numbers must be visible as you pass.
Where to stand
Four stretches of the route, and what each one is like on the night.
Elgin, between Durham and Larch
The widest sidewalk on the route and the least crowded early. Level surface, curb cuts at both ends. Arrive by 5:00 p.m. for a front spot.
Durham at Larch
A corner, so the floats slow down and you see them for longer. Busy from 4:30 p.m. onward, and the sidewalk narrows outside the storefronts.
Elm, near the judging stand
Entries put on their best show here. It is also the densest crowd on the route and the loudest for float music.
